The “Sheriff’s House” at the corner of Main and Court Streets in Owego, NY, was constructed in 1882. It was the home and office for Tioga County Sheriff McMasters. The house had six cells for women prisoners on the second floor (the bars are still in the windows). In later years, it was occupied by law enforcement. In 1997 it was purchased by Bruce Nelson with plans to renovate for adaptive reuse. Now it houses three unique residential units and five office suites.
